I published my version of this classic pitch deck on SlideShare on March 12, 2015. It's now approaching 8,000,000 views. Someone views it every 15-20 seconds, 24 hours a day, seven days a week. It got a couple of views in the time it took you to read this paragraph ;)
What do you do? Keep it simple.
What are the three biggest problems you solve?
What do you offer? Who do you help? How do you help? Why will they care?
Is there a market for your solution? How many potential customers are in that market? How are people solving the problem today? Use numbers. Show sources.
Where does your market fit in the bigger picture? How big is the market for *your* solution? Use numbers. Show sources.
How does your product work? Show the key three steps in your primary user's workflow.
How will you make money? What are your unit economics? Keep it simple. Multiple your potential customer count by your average revenue per customer.
How will you drive customer awareness and demand for your product? Be specific on your Marketing and Sales strategy and tactics.
Who are your main competitors? Why will customers choose your product over the competition?
What other advantages will help you dominate your market?
Does your team have the experience and expertise tp pull this off? What startup experience do they have? What domain experience? Do you have proven leaders in place for all key functions including Marketing, Sales, Customer Success, and Product Development? Include advisors in a separate section.
What are key influencers saying about your company and product?
What are users saying about your product?
How much are you raising? What will you do with the money? Be specific on the customer and revenue growth you expect to achieve with your investment — and how long it will take.
Less is more. Keep your content simple and don't overwhelm your story with complex design. Make sure your deck proactively answers common investor questions and objections before they get asked.
